Front and back covers

I finished the rabbit drawing, but I still didn't really like the back page. I thought I'd leave it for a week and go crack on with my research.

Here is how it was:

I've come back to it, and I realised its the font that I don't like. I didn't think it should be the same as the inside text.

So is how my front and back cover look now:

I've now sent my book off to DPI, how exciting!

DPI

I've been asking my friends if they've knew of any good printing places in Bournemouth, and quite a couple of people said about this place 'Design Print Internet'. They actually were one of the top searches on Google, so I had already looked at their website.
Today I emailed them to see if I could book an appointment, and they said I could come by this afternoon.
They showed me the different types of paper I could have my book printed on, I've chose to have it matt finish.
It's only going to cost me £20 and I'll get two copies, so I thought that was pretty good!

Now all I need to do is finish my book and send it off to them!

8th April Deadline

Today we had to had in our work so far, but hopefully it would've been finished. I have pretty much finished, but I've still got to do that back page.
Here is what I've handed in:
Easter break now, but I think I'll staying here doing more work :(

Courting title page!

As well as sorting out other bits in indesign, today I've been creating a title page for my Courting section. I've used the Frigate Bird, the Rifle bird and the Porcupine as examples of what the section contains.

I might change the layout of these eventually though, not too sure about it at the moment.

Example book page

Here is my tortoise page, see I've done it the same way the Miffy books are layed out. Text on one page, image on the other.
I'm using quite subtle colours throughout to fit in with the organic kind of style of the text.
